Case Study: Tenanted Properties, Hull (Residential asbestos removal for leading housing association)

Client: Riverside / Evolve Facility Services

Asbestos Services UK worked successfully alongside Riverside appointed contractor to manage a removal programme prior to kitchen upgrade works beginning.

Asbestos Services UK were appointed as licenced asbestos removal contractor to carry out the removal of high risk asbestos insulation board, alongside all low risk asbestos products, within a former ATS Tyre Depot in Caernarfon, North Wales.

As part of AS UK's ongoing partnership with Riverside, the firm was appointed to carry out removal of asbestos insulation boards, and warm air units, within the kitchen areas of various tenanted properties in Hull.

The works were planned as part of a heating upgrade scheme and removal was essential prior to works beginning. The high risk removal works were systematic in each property and were programmed for one day removal for each. As part of the programme, a full enclosure was set up at the point of entry to the affected area within each property, and asbestos carefully removed followed by a full decontaminate clean-up.

A UKAS analyst attended on completion of the removal to approve the works and confirm areas were safe prior to the tenant returning to property at the end of working day. The contract was carried out over a one week period with a team of four operatives based at the site. All works were completed within the set timescales and to budget.
